THIS IS A CALL TO PEOPLE EVERYWHERE TO STAND UP FOR PANNIR, A YOUNG MAN WHO IS BEING SENTENCED TO HANG FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING. HE IS CURRENTLY ON DEATH ROW IN CHANGI PRISON. IF YOU BELIEVE IN SECOND CHANCES, PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION.
Our beloved brother Pannir Selvam is currently on death row in Singapore. We, Pannir’s family, urgently appeal to all Malaysians, Singaporeans, and global citizens to help us save his life.
Pannir will be hanged anytime after this 24 Jun, if his pledge for Judicial Review is rejected.
Even before the Judicial Review is officially filed. Mr. Shanmugam quoted to have release the statement on CNA .
"MHA would like to clarify that the decision is taken by the Public Prosecutor in his sole discretion, based on whether the offender had provided the authorities substantive assistance that leads to the disruption of drug trafficking activities in Singapore," said the ministry.
"The Public Prosecutor determined that he had not."
Pannir has co-operated fully with the authorities. He’s supplied important information to Singapore’s Central Narcotics Bureau, at immense risk to himself and our family, to disrupt drug trafficking in Singapore. Despite this, he was refused a Certificate of Substantive Assistance from Singapore’s Public Prosecutor that would have saved his life. This decision broke our hearts.
A second chance for Pannir is a second chance for many other lost souls out there. Support us in supporting Pannir so that he may have his second chance in life.
This is Pannir’s first conviction. Before this, he had never been accused or convicted of any crime. The news of his death sentence came as a complete shock to our family, and devastated us.
Please help save our brother.
"I was young and foolish, back then a stranger blinded me. Now I regret that choice.” ~Pannir .
“Each day I hope and pray that things would change, maybe some miracle would happen. But…maybe I can no longer hope that much.” ~Pannir
A devout Christian, Pannir swore to use his voice to spread awareness to educate the younger generation on the dangers of meddling with drugs and other illegal substances.
When asked what he would do with a second chance at life, Pannir said, “I would first beg my parents and family and God for forgiveness for failing to be a good son and brother. And then, I will do whatever I can to get His message of regret and redemption out to youths, to help save them from drugs."
